Home Study Courses – Why Study From Home?
Home studies have existed for a very long time and until the ILA scandal is perceived very positively. Flexibility to take a home-based course was and remains the main advantage over traditional courses offered in colleges. Many colleges now offer home study as part of the apprenticeship program because it makes perfect sense to only have to go to college from time to time to attend a conference, ask questions and usually network with other students. The problem is that the tutor most often has no experience in helping students when he is not face to face. As a result, problems occur. A home tutor needs more skills than a tutor in the classroom because he or she needs to be qualified in the subject they teach and be able to communicate their skills and information via email and phone when helping a student. Many college tutors have little or no experience beyond the fact that they have taken the course they teach.
Understanding that we are all different in terms of personality and learning ability is essential, and since there are only small numbers, 10 to 20 students in a class, it takes a lot of time, if not years, to become a good tutor. A personality conflict often causes friction and the end result is that the guardian is always paid while the student fails. Six months later, it’s just a case of next class please. Maybe the guardian does not like him very much so this is the case for the next class, the next guardian please.
The fact that there are very few free courses of value in colleges now, a student is forced to invest time and money for a course and, therefore, he wants a return on investment. Missing a few courses in various real circumstances will result in the loss of the student. Some tutors will give grades and may allow the student to do a home study to catch up, but this is not something that can be requested by the student.
What do I hear you say ?? Home study saved the situation !!!
In the days before ILA, only a few colleges and training providers offered the flexibility of a home-based course. It was virtually unknown and as such not popular. It was not very traditional either, because we used to be taught in class. The introduction of ILAs and the easy money that went with them opened the door to almost everyone who could fill out an application form and flooded the unscrupulous. The government was giving a huge amount of money to companies offering only a few pieces of paper containing an easy-to-print lesson from the Internet. It took the government some time to find out what was going on, but once it did, it was about shutting down the ILA regime and trying to track down the companies that had taken over. money to try to recover something, simply. or going to court.
The unfortunate result was that the home study sector was now tarnished and that, of course, people were extremely cautious when considering a home study course. The advantage of all this is that the majority of companies that existed before ILA had done nothing wrong, but as the company had taken a hit, it was about improving standards or closing .
Survivors worked hard to save the industry and, over time, by investing time and money, improving the standards and quality of supply, the home study industry began to make a comeback. Home classes were now, but much better, than before, and people started to get the message across. Let’s face it: Flexibility and costs are perfect, but what about the quality of supplies and equipment and the success rates and qualifications?
